Main Reading
I finished a book about the eclipse (video here), and a biography about George Lucas that was really freaking good and deserves its own writeup, maybe its own series of videos, we’ll see. I have a LOT of thoughts after reading that one and most of them are praise.
This week I have a Jack Reacher book to finish and an indie sequel to read, which I fully expect to enjoy. The first one was good.
Comics Corner
Since going to my LCS is now a regular Friday thing, why not highlight it here? My pull file consists of every book in Skybound’s Energon Universe, which is made up of VOID RIVALS, TRANSFORMERS, and various G.I. Joe characters. They have enough series in motion that week there’s a new book coming out. This week it was Void Rivals #8.
This wasn’t a long issue, and it moved the story probably the least compared to the other issues, but it paid off the arrival of a new villain that was teased in #7. I’ve got to find time to do an Energon video on the channel to explain all of these.
This week also saw the launch of GHOST MACHINE from Image comics, which is its own universe and continuity. For the next six months they have three series going, called Geiger, Redcoat, and Rook Exodus. I sampled these titles in a recent video and I had no interest in Geiger, but the other two caught my attention and I bought them this week.
Haven’t read Redcoat yet but Rook Exodus was really, really impressive. Full video coming soon.
